Marek Meduna (1973, Praag) exposeerde tot 2005 vrijwel nooit alleen maar altijd met zijn kunstenaarscollectief Rafani. Hij is nog steeds actief met Rafani, scherpe, maatschappij kritische kunst. Zijn schilderijen en installaties hebben in de loop der jaren meer waardering gekregen, terecht. De schilderijen van Marek zijn alles wat schilderkunst kan zijn, conceptueel, intuïtief, precies, rommelig en al wat nog meer. Het is deze openheid die mij enorm aanspreekt in zijn werk, de steeds zoekende houding en het ene schilderij dat het andere tegenspreekt, of juist versterkt. Het is vrijwel onmogelijk om grip te krijgen op zijn volledige oeuvre, je moet het zien.
